Visitor Moorings in London for the 2012 Olympics
Welcome to our summer 2012 visitor moorings. There's a wide range of berths available on the canals and rivers of central London, within London Docklands and on the Grand Union Canal in Hertfordshire (which offers an easy commute to the capital). All of the sites are close to public transport connecting to Olympic venues, central London and visitor attractions.
Use our maps to get your bearings: Overview of London's waterways and Games venues, Olympic moorings on London's canals, the River Lee and Docklands, Olympic moorings on the Grand Union Canal. Use the mooring finder at the top right hand corner of this page to find the site that's right for you and your boat.
You can book any number of full weeks between 12th July and 23rd August 2012. The change-over day differs between sites, and you book a berth (not metre length of your boat). Moorings on each site are allocated in order of the date booked. The maximum boat length is 21 metres on the canals and River Lee, and 26 metres in Docklands (please contact us if your boat is over 26 metres and we may be able to accommodate you).
You'll need to register your full details in order to book and will be directed to do this at the booking stage.
Payment is required in full, online at the time of booking. Details of cancellations, refunds and changes are in the Terms and Conditions and further information is in the FAQ's. The price you pay is the price advertised at the point that you book. Please note that we may change prices (up or down) for vacant berths at any site.
Whilst we will endeavour to keep you updated, it's really important that you read the information about boating in London during 2012 at www.waterscape.com/londonboats2012. Some cruising restrictions will apply and information may change as we approach summer 2012, so please check it regularly. To plan your trip you should also check the waterway dimensions and boaters' guides on www.waterscape.com for the canals and www.boatingonthethames.co.uk for the River Thames. You should sign up for navigation restriction notices in case any affect your route to London in 2012.
We're releasing berths in phases, starting with a small proportion for people who want to secure their mooring in London before committing to purchase Games tickets (ticket deadline is 26th April.) Further berths will be released according to demand, although the main phase will be released later this Summer when Olympic ticket allocations are confirmed.
If you don't find what you want, check this website regularly or leave us your email address so we can tell you about new availability.
We look forward to welcoming you to London in 2012!
